Social Event Registration

Please take note of the regulations for date parties and mixers on campus:

Mixer and Date Party Regulations

Mixers and Date Parties are defined as any event that occurs on campus that includes alcohol and has restricted attendance based on organization membership or invitation by a date.

  1. Properly Complete the Event Registration Form 7 days in advance
  2. Chapter Presidents must check with their house director to see if they will be present for the event. If not, they must identify the House Director on call and have the on call phone number readily available
  3. Mixers and date parties are not subject to walk through procedures as with invited list parties. Chapter leadership may request a walk through from the IFC leadership 4 days prior to the event
  4. Chapter leaders are responsible for giving out wristbands to their own members above the age of 21. A designated member of the chapter executive board must pick up the wristbands from the Office of Sorority and Fraternity Life between 9 and 5 M-F or from the IFC VP of Risk Management at a time that is convenient for both parties.
  5. Wristbands for date functions must be utilized. Chapters leadership must work with the membership to identify the age of the non-member dates prior to or at the beginning of the event
  6. Two members of the executive board of each chapter are substance free
  7. Non-alcoholic beverages and non-salty foods must be readily available
  8. Each guest over the age of 21 may bring a maximum of one six pack of canned beer
  9. Beer will be distributed by two sober members of the chapter to persons with proper wristbands
  10. Common containers (kegs, water coolers, etc.) hard liquor, solo cups, and illegal substances are strictly prohibited
  11. Chapter leaders are responsible for monitoring their own members. Visibly intoxicated guests should not be admitted into the event.
  12. Chapter leadership has the right and obligation to remove members and non-members from an event
  13. Social functions must end by 2:00 am
  14. Exteriors of the fraternity must be cleaned by the chapter members by noon the day after the party
